How to Free Up Space on Your Apple Watch – Step by Step

If you are facing the problem of your Apple Watch doesn’t have enough space for apps, music, podcasts, and all the other stuff you can try to store on it. we shall discuss  How to Free Up Space on Your Apple Watch. The amount of storage varies depending on the watch version. The Series 6, 5, and SE offer 32GB of space, but only 4GB for the Series 4, CB3 GPS + Cellular models, and only 8GB for the Series 3 GPS models. B has only 16 GB.

Depending on your watch and how much content is downloaded or synced, you can easily run in less space before you know it. So your watch can tell you how much space you have available. It can also show you how much space is used by specific apps and content so you know what to do when you’re running in space.

How to Check Storage Space

Check the available free storage space on your watch from the Watch app on your phone.

Watch > General > About in the app. Wait a few seconds and the app will display all songs, photos, and external applications on the device. It also shows the total capacity and the amount of space available.

Check the capacity directly on your Apple Watch, go to Settings > General > Usage.

That storage section shows the amount of space available and the amount of space used. Swipe down the screen to see how much space is taken up by each app and the type of content, including music, podcasts, and photos.

 

 

Remove Applications

Now that you know which content is taking up the most space, you can pull out items you don’t need or want. First, let’s consider deleting apps using the Watch app on your phone.

Tap the name of the app you want to remove, then turn off the Show app on the Apple Watch switch, and the app will be deleted from the watch. Go back to the previous screen, and the app will now appear in the available apps section, where you can always reinstall it on your watch by tapping the install button.

To remove an app directly from the clock, press the Digital Crown to go to the home screen, along with viewing all your apps.

If the home screen is in the grid view, lightly press any icon until it all starts moving. Tap the X button on the app you want to remove. On the confirmation screen, tap the Delete the app. Press the digital crown to stop the icon jogging.

If the home screen is in ListView, swipe through that list until you see the app you want to delete. Swipe the app entry to the left and tap the Trash icon. Tap on Delete App entry to confirm.

You may also want to delete any saved music from your Apple Watch. Do this by opening the Watch app on your iPhone. Swipe down my Watch section and tap Music Entry.

The Recent Music option adds songs you’ve recently played. If this option is enabled and you want to see how much space you can free, turn off this switch to remove recent albums. Next, tap the edit link in the upper right. Next to any playlist or album, tap the Delete icon you want to delete, and then tap the Delete button.

To delete albums directly from your Apple Watch, open the Music app on your watch. Swipe the thumbnail of each album until you see entries for phone and library. Tap Library> Albums and swipe down the screen until you see an album you want to delete.

Swipe the album name to the left and then tap the elliptical symbol. On the Action screen, tap the Remove button. The app asks if you want to delete the album from your library or remove this download from the clock. Tap Remove Download and the album is off your watch. Tap Done.

 

 

 

Resync Photos too

You can also change and restrict synced photos from your phone to your watch. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, then swipe down the My Watch section and tap the entry for photos. Whether the options are connected to your mirror or customized, you can change the album to sync and control the number of synced photos in your watch.

Tap the synced album and switch it to another album, which may contain fewer images. Tap on the thumbnail size and increase the number of synchronized images to at least 25. Your watch will then update the synced images.

If you’re storing audiobooks on your watch, they can be removed from the Watch app on your phone. In the My Watch section, tap audiobooks. Here, you have some options.

If the switches for Reading Now for reading and want to read now, it means that your watch is automatically downloading the audio box to fill the space. Turn them off to prevent syncing and make room on your device. Check out the list of synced audio boxes so no one needs your watch. Swipe left and tap the Delete button.

 

 

 

Unpair & Disconnect Apple Watch

The Up Next option downloads one episode from your top 10 podcasts, while Custom adds three episodes to each show you choose. The custom option gives you more control over the synced episodes, so you can try it. In that case, turn off the switch for any podcast you don’t need on your watch.
