Everyone knows safety is important, but with the exception of a few people whose job it is to monitor safety, it’s probably something that’s on most people’s minds. There are two reasons for this – first, safety is about something that is not happening (and we are more concerned about things that are happening) and, second, it is human to think that way. It is natural that this should not happen to me, perhaps as a way to deal with the potential danger of something catastrophic. So An Introduction to Pharmacovigilance by Patrick Waller covers these topics and you can download this pdf book free with a direct download link of google drive.
The last decade has seen a marked increase in the number of people working in the field of clinical drug safety or pharmacovigilance, mostly in the pharmaceutical industry. This trend is likely to continue, and it is hoped that more attention will be paid to drug safety. This book is especially targeted at newcomers to the field who are often narrow-minded as needed and aims to provide them with a brief and comprehensive introduction to the field. My goal here is to help you quickly understand the important principles of the environment and pharmaceuticals in the industry / regulatory interface.
This book an Introduction to Pharmacovigilance pdf free probably will not help the newcomers with detailed day-to-day aspects of their job but I hope it will enable them to see where they fit into a bigger picture. I have assumed that readers will at least have a science degree but not necessarily much specific knowledge about drugs. The new entrant needs to know how we got where we are today. The most important historical drug safety issues have shaped the development of pharmacovigilance and I have therefore used these as a starting point. I hope that the book will also help the newcomers to appreciate that they are now working in an interesting and important field that is likely to develop much in the near future. I have deliberately not included any reference citations within the text since, initially, I hope the reader will want to read on rather than go elsewhere.
More importantly, such knowledge needs to be able to be used in less than ideal situations, when the lack of information and evidence is less than required. Published pharmaceutical literature is rich in reviews, case studies, critiques and debates, advocacy of special methods and interesting new methods. What is lacking, however, is an overview of the state of knowledge that is clear, concise and accessible. For those who are just starting a career in pharmacovigilance or just want to get the right knowledge about discipline, here is what they need to know.
The challenge of pharmacovigilance is as big if not as big after the thalidomide tragedy. If the public, patients and health professionals have to trust their products, it is a challenge to the commitment of all involved in the development, marketing and regulation of medicines.

More About this book
Newcomers need to know where we are today. The most important historical drug safety issues have shaped the development of pharmacovigilance and that is why I have used them as a starting point. I hope this book will also help newcomers appreciate that they are now working in an interesting and important field that is likely to grow significantly in the near future.
I have deliberately not included any references in the text, at the beginning, I hope the reader will want to read instead of going elsewhere. Larger references can be found in larger texts that readers should follow. In the previous chapter, I have selectively cited some key sources that may be helpful for further reading. A dictionary explaining the key terms is provided at the end for reference.
